Community Guidelines

Effective Date: March 27, 2026

dots is built on one idea — real people finding their people. These guidelines exist to make sure every vibe, every chat, and every connection on dots feels safe, genuine, and worth showing up for. When you use dots, you agree to these standards.

🤝 Respect Everyone

Every person on dots is here to connect and vibe. Treat people the way you'd want to be treated at a real-world meetup.

NOT OK Harassment or bullying — targeting, intimidating, or repeatedly bothering someone who doesn't want to engage with you.
NOT OK Hate speech — language or content that attacks someone based on their race, religion, gender, caste, sexuality, disability, or nationality.
NOT OK Threats or intimidation — threatening violence, harm, or making someone fear for their safety in any way.
NOT OK Discrimination — excluding or demeaning others based on who they are.
OK Disagreeing respectfully, declining a vibe politely, or simply not engaging with someone you don't click with.

💬 Keep Chats Clean

Chats and vibe conversations should feel like real conversations — not a place people dread opening.

NOT OK Unsolicited explicit content — sending sexual messages, images, or videos to someone without their clear consent.
NOT OK Spam — sending repeated, irrelevant, or promotional messages to people or inside vibes.
NOT OK Scamming or misleading people — using chats to deceive, manipulate, or extract money or personal information from others.
NOT OK Impersonation — pretending to be someone else or creating a fake identity to mislead others.
OK Planning meetups, sharing locations, sending photos from vibes, and having normal friendly conversations.

📍 Vibes Are Real — Keep Them Honest

Vibes are the core of dots. They work because people trust them to be genuine.

NOT OK Fake vibes — creating vibes you have no intention of showing up to, or using vibes to lure people under false pretenses.
NOT OK Commercial or promotional vibes — using vibes to sell products, promote services, or run advertising without authorisation from dots.
NOT OK Misrepresenting a vibe — describing a vibe as something it isn't to get people to show up.
OK Creating spontaneous, genuine vibes — even casual, small, or last-minute ones. That's exactly what dots is for.

🔒 Protect Privacy

What happens in a vibe stays in a vibe. People share things in real-time with the expectation of trust.

NOT OK Sharing someone's personal information — posting or forwarding someone's location, phone number, address, or private details without their consent.
NOT OK Screenshots of private chats — sharing private conversations outside the app without permission from everyone involved.
NOT OK Stalking or tracking — using location or vibe information to follow, monitor, or show up uninvited to someone's location.
OK Sharing your own location and profile information as part of normal vibe participation.

🚫 Zero Tolerance

Some things result in an immediate, permanent ban with no appeal. There are no second chances for these.

🛡️ Your Safety at Vibes

dots facilitates real-world meetups. Here's how to keep yourself safe and what we expect from everyone.

dots is not responsible for what happens at in-person meetups, but we take reports of unsafe behaviour very seriously and will act accordingly.

⚖️ Enforcement

We review reports and take action based on severity and context. Actions we may take include:

⚠️  Warning — for first-time or minor violations.

🔇  Temporary suspension — restricted access to chats or vibe creation.

🚷  Permanent ban — for serious, repeated, or zero-tolerance violations.

🚔  Legal reporting — for content that requires us to involve law enforcement.

We may act on violations we discover ourselves, not only those that are reported. Context always matters — we don't remove content just because it's reported.

🚩 How to Report

If you see something that violates these guidelines — inside a chat, a vibe, or on someone's profile — report it directly in the app. Every report is reviewed by a real person.

🔄 Updates to These Guidelines

As dots grows, these guidelines will evolve. We'll update the effective date when changes are made. Continued use of dots means you agree to the current version of these guidelines.
